Weekend Update! Love, Joy and Pomegranate

Helllo to the 5th day of October!!
Happy Monday friends!

I feel like I don't even need to ask how your weekend was, because it seems like everyone had a fantastic weekend!! Races were happening everywhere and the Fall racing season is in full swing!

It was the perfect Fall weekend, the kind where you can feel the change in the weather. The sun is setting a littler earlier and it's much darker in the early morning.
Speaking of the sun setting, this is the incredible sunset I saw on Saturday during my 6 (yes, 6!!!) mile run...

Is this incredible or what?!

The six mile run was a huge milestone for me - I haven't run six miles since last November!!
We are moving right along in this base building phase. I have been running 4 times a week and cross training 2 times a week. This week, I move to only cross training one time during the week - the rest is pure running (and a rest day on Sunday which I look forward to)!

6 miles, baby!!

I haven't been baking much these days (I miss it! Some type of yummy Fall recipe is in the works!), but I am always excited about food. More salmon for us...

I found the most beautiful pomegranates at Whole Foods!!

It's the best feeling when I break open one of these and my kids get just as excited as if I were offering lollipops!! #win

Lately, our Sunday evening ritual has been eating an early dinner and taking the kids down to the beach to play before bath time. We had such a blast...

Sunday evening fun!

...And I received my Choose Joy shirt in the mail! I was super excited to wear it!! All the proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's hospital, which is really wonderful. Go to Jen's blog to find out how to order one of her awesome shirts!

So much to be joyful about!

Felt the urge to play in the sand...

Another incredible sunset...

This never gets old

I was so excited about all the fall races this weekend: Twin Cities Marathon, Wineglass, Portland, Maine and Ragnar DC to name a few.
I have to include this picture, because it was so MOVING, so beautiful. A story of friendship, women supporting one another and showing that hard work and determination always pays off! Congratulations to Michele on her awesome race with an amazing PR!!!

Also, I want to give a huge congrats to Courtney on running a great race at the Wineglass Marathon!! Woo hoo - you rocked it!!! :)

Speaking of amazing women runners and friendship, I was following along during the Rise.Run.Retreat this weekend! Sarah and Jesica organized the retreat and it was so neat to see a group of women bonding and supporting one another!! #feelthelove

In case you missed it ---> you can check out what I am loving this week HERE!!

A big thank you to Cynthia for including me in her list of 5 favorite fitness bloggers!! Yay!! #honored

Alright friends, wishing you a wonderful Monday and happy resting to those running the Chicago Marathon this weekend!!

Who raced this weekend?

Anyone tapering for an upcoming marathon?

Have you ever had a friend run with you during a marathon or race?

Happiness Is Running Life!

Natalie
