It started on Friday afternoon with Josh having a 103 fever and in bed all weekend. By Sunday morning, Megan was burning up hot and achy and by Sunday afternoon SBG has gotten the yucky bug.
Today, everyone turned the corner a bit. Josh was back in school and the girls finally had the energy to play a bit together...
I had so much fun playing with them. I put the timer on for 30 minutes, put everything else aside and just PLAYED. They loved, and I loved it.
By late afternoon I could feel my nose starting to run and the beginning of a terrible headache. How could I avoid it after wiping noses (and middle of the night care) for 5 days?
So, I decided to take the day off. I have been working out 6 days a week with Sunday as a rest day, but I can play around with the week and take a day off when I need it. I think this plan will change a bit when I start running again, but I am enjoying it now.
I loved my breakfast this morning... (!)
I loved my breakfast this morning... (!)
It is hard to find a cereal that has ZERO sugar. Ezekiel 4:9 is so crunchy and delicious and - no sugar! I love their bread also :)
I wanted to share with you some great info to PREVENT an injury. As we are in the middle of winter training for spring and early summer races, it is so important to take care of ourselves so we can continue to be out on the road.
Runner's Connect was kind enough to share this with me and I am passing it on...
Five Essential Foods (Other Than Calcium) That Help Prevent Stress Fractures
Runner are healthy eaters, but are we eating the foods that will help prevent a serious injury?
Also...
These 5 culprits can INCREASE your risk of developing a stress fracture. We all eat them! Are we putting ourselves at risk?
I am going to give myself the gift of going to bed early and hopefully my body will recharge for tomorrow.
Have you ever had a stress fracture? If so, how did you deal with it and how long did it take to heal?
How many hours of sleep do you get per night?
Happiness Is Running Life!

Natalie
